Village Board
 Mayor and Board of Trustees
Addison is governed by a Mayor and six-member Board of Trustees. All are
elected at large for four years with staggered terms.
The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, appoints a
full time Village Manager to supervise operations of the various departments.
The Board of Trustees is the Village's legislative and policy-making body. It
also approves the annual budget, determines the tax levy, passes ordinances and
resolutions and approves subdivisions and other land use.
The Board of Trustees meets the first and third Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the
Village Hall. In the event of a Monday
holiday, meetings are held on Tuesday.
Committees of the Board meet as “committee of the whole” whereby all
trustees are members. Committee chairs and vice-chairs are appointed by the
Mayor.
Three standing committees review proposals and make recommendations prior to
Board action: the Finance and Policy Committee meets on the first and third
Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.; the Building, Zoning and Development
Committee meets on the second and fourth Monday at 6:30 p.m.; and the Public
Health, Safety and Judicial Committee meets on the second and fourth Monday at 7
p.m.
Residents are invited to attend all Board and committee meetings, which are
also cablecast on Addison Community Television Channel 6.
Village Clerk
The Village Clerk is elected at large for a four-year term.
Residents may inspect official Village documents, ordinances and resolutions
in the Village Clerk's office. Applications for appointment to commissions are
filed in this office. Residents may register to vote and cast absentee ballots,
and have documents notarized in the Village Clerk's office.
The Village Clerk also has informative brochures on services provided by the
Village and other public agencies available free of charge.
