Neighborhood Coffees More than 25 years ago, Addison residents tuned into the first televised Village
meeting broadcasts on cable television to learn about issues in our town. Now,
the Village of Addison takes another step in getting out to the community by
partnering with residents to host "neighborhood coffees."
Mayor Larry Hartwig, along with a trustee and staff member,
will visit with a host family and about 8 to 10 neighbors on a week night, to
answer questions from residents and discuss matters facing the Village and the
community.
These gatherings are informal, and give residents a chance to
chat with their elected officials in a relaxed atmosphere. Residents can discuss
whatever they wish with the Mayor, while he gets the opportunity to see what
concerns those in various areas of our community.
If you are interested in hosting a Neighborhood Coffee in
your home,
please fill out the form below, or contact
Doree Krage, Assistant Director of Community
Relations at 630/693-7550.
Generally, it is suggested that neighborhood coffees take
place on either a Tuesday or Thursday night from 7:30 p.m. until about 9 p.m.
Host residents are asked to invite several of their neighbors from the immediate
area.
