Community Development
The Village of Addison Community Development Department, located in Room 1200 of
Village Hall, comprises the Building and Engineering Divisions. These
divisions oversee and coordinate operations related to building permits, code
enforcement, engineering, capital improvements, planning and zoning, and
economic development.
- Building Division: oversees building permits and code
enforcement. Enforcement of all building and property maintenance codes is performed by a
team of professionally trained inspectors. Areas of inspection include, new
construction, redevelopment, new business licenses, rental housing, annual
commercial/industrial inspections, commercial/industrial pre-sale and property maintenance
complaints.
- Engineering Division: The Engineering Division, under the
supervision of the Village Engineer, is responsible for the
planning, design, and construction of Village owned streets,
storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water distribution and supply
systems. Additionally, the division's staff is responsible for
traffic engineering, inspection of privately developed
building sites, subdivisions and planned unit developments.

Profile: Appointed Assistant
Village Manager in 1996 after serving as Assistant Director
of Community Development since 1992. Previously employed by
the City of Wood Dale, Illinois as Assistant City Manager
for three years and as City Manager for three years. BA in
Political Science and Business Administration from Augustana
College in 1976 and MA in Public Administration from Iowa
State University in 1981. Professional associations include
International City Managers Association, and Illinois City
Managers Association. |
