ROADSIDE SAFETY CHECKPOINT SCHEDULED ALONG NORTH AVENUE

The Addison Police Department will be conducting a Roadside Safety Checkpoint from 8 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2006, to 2 a.m., Sunday, October 29, 2006. The Safety Checkpoint will be conducted at 280 W. North Avenue, Syms Clothing Store, just west of Addison Road.

Vehicles traveling west on North Avenue will be stopped in a pre-established, systematic fashion for a brief inspection of safety and driver violations. Police will be checking vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses, proof of insurance, and driver sobriety in addition to vehicle safety violations.

The purpose of conducting the Roadside Safety Checkpoint is to enhance the safety of the motoring public in the Village of Addison.

Hopefully, citizens can look at this minor inconvenience as their contribution to the safety of the motoring public and their opportunity to be part of the solution.
