MAYOR ANNOUNCES NAMING OF
‘HENRY J. HYDE NEIGHBORHOOD RESOURCE CENTER’
Mayor Larry Hartwig Monday
announced that a Resource Center in the Michael Lane area will be named the
“Henry J. Hyde Neighborhood Resource Center” when it is completed next year.
Mayor Hartwig made the
announcement during the Groundbreaking Ceremony at 199 Michael Lane, just a few
doors down from where the center has been operating out of a rental apartment,
providing social services and information to residents.
The ceremony was attended by
State Senator Peter Roskam, attending on behalf of Congressman Henry Hyde who
secured more than $600,000 in federal money to help in construction of the $1.2
million facility.
The new center will continue to
be staffed and operated by the Addison Police Department. It will also house
the Addison Community Switchboard, the local food pantry.
