VILLAGE OF ADDISON COMMUNITY RECYCLING EXTRAVAGANZA MAY 2
Allied Waste to Allow Drop Off of Items at Public Works
On Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Allied Waste will sponsor the
first-ever Village of Addison Community Recycling Extravaganza at the Public
Works Facility at 1491 Jeffrey Drive.
Residents will be allowed to drop off many items that would not be allowed to be
put into curbside recycling or to be put in ordinary garbage.
These items will include: batteries (e.g., boat, car, sump pump, utility); scrap
metal (i.e. swing sets, lawn furniture, washers, dryers); tattered American
flags; adult bicycles and bicycle parts; used motor oil and anti-freeze;
eyeglasses; hearing aids; ink jet cartridges; fire extinguishers; electronics.
Some items will not be accepted, including paint, household hazardous waste,
refrigerators and air conditioners.
In addition, residents may bring documents to be shredded on site. These
documents should be limited to three boxes, and should not include plastic
binders. You may choose to view the shredding process.
