SIX CONTESTANTS COMPETE FOR MISS ADDISON CROWN
Three Scholarships to be Awarded July 27
Six Addison students will compete in the 2010 Miss Addison Scholarship
Pageant, vying for three scholarships totaling $2,250. The contestants are:
Melissa Anne Adams, Monique Barras; Alexandra Rose Longo; Kali Maginity;
Jennifer Rowley and Kimberly Schultz.
The contestants have submitted an application and essay, a letter of
recommendation, and a transcript detailing their academic achievements. They
will meet the judges for the first time on Tuesday, July 20 at 6 - 7 p.m. in
Village Hall rotunda at a reception.
“The reception is an opportunity for the judges to get acquainted with the
girls, and begin placing a face with each of the applications,” said Addison
Village Clerk Lucille Zucchero, coordinator of the pageant.
Following the reception, the contestants will be interviewed on Addison
Community Television, giving the community a chance to become acquainted with
them as well.
The pageant itself will take place on Tuesday, July 27 at 7 p.m. in the Village
Hall Rotunda, 1 Friendship Plaza. Each contestant will model daytime and evening
wear, provided by Mona Lisa Boutique and Syms of Addison, and will take part in
an open question-and-answer period with the judges.
Miss Addison will receive a $1,500 scholarship; first runner up will be awarded
a $500 scholarship; and second runner up will be awarded a $250 scholarship.
The pageant will be judged by Jimmy Narducci of One Salon & Spa in Oak Brook;
Panorea Lekkas-Bakutis, former Addison Village Clerk; Heather Winter from
Elmhurst College; and a representative from Syms of Addison.
The public is invited to attend the July 27 pageant. Media is also welcome at
the July 20 reception.
