Commission members are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Board of Trustees. Commissions advise the board on various issues and proposals under review.
Residents wishing to volunteer service on a commission may obtain an application in the Village Clerk's Office, or may submit one online.

Advisory Liquor Commission
Reviews applications for liquor licenses, conducts public hearings for such requests, reviews compliance with the liquor code and makes recommendations to the Mayor, who serves as liquor commissioner. -
Blood Bank Commission
Maintains a blood donation program through four community drives and two high school drives annually. -
Community Advisory Commission
Serves as a research and communication body for the community. The Village Board refers issues to the council and the council alerts the elected officials to community concerns. -
Commercial & Industrial Commission
Develops a cooperative working relationship between the Village and business community. -
Historical Commission
Maintains a history of the Village, provides for the safekeeping of historical items and solicits and accepts memorials. The Addison Historical Museum is open Wednesdays and Fridays, noon - 4 p.m.; archives access by appointment. Call 628-1433 for tour information. -
Planning and Zoning Commission
Responsible for review and recommendations on proposed subdivisions, annexations, rezoning and other land use matters. -
Police Commission
Responsible for examining and hiring new patrol officers, promotion within the force and recommending to the Mayor and Board of Trustees any policy matters under the Commission’s jurisdiction. -
Police Pension Board
Administers all phases of the police pension program including investment of funds and consideration of claims. -
Senior Citizens Commission
Serves as a liaison between the elected officials and senior citizens of the Village.
