Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements

Construction of the Anaerobic Digester Complex at the North Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 711 N. Addison Road, will be financed by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

This project includes Improvements to the Anaerobic Digester Complex including sludge, gas and hydronic piping, boiler heat exchangers, digester covers and mixing system, gas safety equipment, recirculation pumps and valves, miscellaneous HVAC and electrical work. Once complete, it will improve water quality for area residents and businesses in the Village of Addison, which discharges into Salt Creek. This project will allow the facility to properly operate the Anaerobic Digester process. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water.

Noticed to proceed was executed on February 3, 2020. Substantial completion, per the contract, is January 6, 2022.
