Throughout the construction of a project within the Village, inspections are required to confirm it is meeting the approved engineering site development plans and the Standard Specifications for Design and Construction. Required inspections include, but are not limited to, erosion and sediment controls, water and sewer mains, pavement base proof roll, curb and gutter, pavement prepave, pressure and deflection testing, televising, and final inspections for occupancy. The inspector's duty is to confirm that the construction is meeting Village minimum standards and is not a nuisance to adjacent property owners; the inspection is not to approve of a contractor's construction method, location or size of foundations, utilities, or pavement. The contractor is entirely responsible for constructing the project to meet the approved plan in their own methods, schedule, and build quality. Most projects also require that As-Builts be submitted prior to them being finalized or receiving occupancy certificates.
